Net point and offensive line stats in the NFL?

I am from Taiwan, so I don’t know whole lot about NFL stats! I want ask that what is net points mean in the NFL standings. And why is there no stats for offensive linemen? When I play Madden 08 on my PC, I can see the stats of the linemen, like Pancakes and Sack allowed. As a fan, I wonder how can I evaluate a lineman(both offensive and defensive) whether he is good or not only through live NFL game since I can only focus on few players on one play. It isn’t easy to see who is good from excellent, compare to other sports, like soccer, basketball and baseball.

Thanks for your help!

Net Points is the total offensive points you score against other teams minus the points your defense allowed. In stats sheets, PF stands for Points For, and PA Stands for Points Against.

Net points = PF – PA.

Suppose your team scores 30 points a game for 10 games, while your defense gives up 20 points a game for 10 games. Your net points will be 300 – 200 = 100 net points.

You can evaluate how good a defensive linemen by his stats such as career sacks, tackles, tackles for losses, fumble forced/recovered, interceptions.
When you watch, you can also evaluate how good a defensive lineman gets off a block. If he is continually being blocked, he’s not good.

Offensive linemen are more subjective. You can evaluate them by how good they block, how much time they give your QB to throw, and such. Pancakes and Sacks allowed are also kept in reality, but just not important.
