What size shoe does your 8 year old wear?
My son will be 8 very soon and he went from a size 2 five months ago to pushing a size 3 today! I hadn’t really noticed, since he’s been wearing flip flops all summer. We go to put on his baseball cleats from the spring league and he can’t even get his foot into them. Luckily, we were at Wal-Mart and happened to walk past a rack of clearance shoes. One pair of cleats left, size 3 for $10.
I brought his old ones to practice to see if any other kids could wear them since they’re basically brand new (besides muddy of course) and the one dad was like, “A size 2?? That’s big..” Are his bigger than average or what?
I’m not worrying…just didn’t realize lol. I’m a size 8 and his dad is an 11 so I guess we’re big footed too.
Same here – A size 2 was actually a little loose on my daughter’s foot last year. She hit a growth spurt this summer and less than a month after turning 8, almost all of her shoes had to go! We donated most of them. But I am saving her cleats for when soccer starts back up.
One of her best friends also wears a size 3. But some of her 8 yr old friends are still in sizes 1.5 and 2.
I think that a size 3 is on the big side of normal for their age. – Especially if your kid is kind of tall for his age. My daughter is like 4′5.
