A question for America…. why do you call your baseball …?
… tournament ‘the world series’ when only the USA is competing. ? and why do you call your football, football when they mostly use their hands? help me on this as im so confused.
Well, the World Series may not be properly named, but it does have teams from both USA and Canada.
Football has emerged more into a sport that uses hands more than feet. But, the kicking has always been important. You can kick a field goal, an extra point, kickoff, and a punt. There used to be more kicks too, like a drop kick similiar to rugby. Both the game and the name of football come from English versions of Rugby or the more popular name in the 19th century, Rugby Football.
Hope this clarifies a bit.
